Financial Policy

At MSK Clinic, we are dedicated to meeting your healthcare needs by providing quality service and simplifying your financial arrangements. Your insurance is a contract between you, your employer, and the insurance company. Our relationship, as your medical care provider, is directly with you and not with your insurance company.

Please note that not all services provided may be covered by your insurance. Some insurance companies may selectively choose certain services to exclude from coverage. While we extend the courtesy of filing insurance claims on your behalf, all charges are ultimately your responsibility from the date services are rendered.

MSK Clinic will file claims and make efforts to collect from your insurance company. If your insurance company fails to pay for services within 60 days, you may need to settle your account in full. It is your responsibility to understand your insurance coverage and benefits, including pre-certifications, referrals, and authorization requirements. We will assist you in ensuring that all plan requirements are met, but you will be responsible for any remaining balances.

NO SHOW AND/OR LATE CANCELLATION POLICY

We are committed to serving our patients promptly and effectively. To accommodate all patients, we require a 48-business-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. For example, if you cancel an appointment on Friday for a visit on Monday, you may incur a no-show/cancellation fee of $50, as the 48-hour notice falls outside of business hours.

We understand that emergencies happen and will work with you in such situations. However, you will be responsible for the missed appointment fee if you do not notify the office within the required 48 hours. If a patient misses two (2) consecutive appointments without notifying the office, it will be assumed that the patient-provider relationship has been terminated and must be re-established for further treatment.

MEDICATION REFILL POLICY

To ensure timely refills of your medication, please notify the office in a timely manner. Approval of refills may take up to three to five business days, so we advise not waiting until the last moment to call. If you use a mail order pharmacy, please contact us fourteen (14) days before your medication is due to run out.

Medication refills are addressed during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm). If you find yourself out of medication after hours, please notify your provider on the next business day. No prescriptions will be refilled on Saturdays, Sundays, or Holidays. Refills can only be authorized for medications prescribed by providers at our clinic, and we will not refill medications prescribed by other providers.

Some medications may require prior authorization, which may involve several steps involving both your pharmacy and your provider. While we will handle the prior authorization as quickly as possible, neither the pharmacy nor the provider can guarantee approval from your insurance company. Please check with your pharmacy or insurance company for updates.

Keeping your scheduled appointments is crucial to ensure timely refills. Repeated no-shows or cancellations may result in denial of refills. All prescriptions require a follow-up appointment every 4 to 8 weeks.

For any questions regarding medications, please discuss them during your visit. If you feel your medication needs adjustment or change, please contact us to schedule an appointment. New symptoms or events require an appointment, as our providers will not diagnose or treat over the phone or patient portal.

Please note, stimulant medications for ADD/ADHD are controlled substances and cannot be called into a pharmacy, per state law and regulations.
